Although singer Paul Banks has been involved with his solo project, it has now been two and a half years since New York band INTERPOL released their last album "Our Love To Admire" (back in July 2007), but as this decade draws to a close we hear that they have been working on an as yet untitled album (their 4th) which is expected to be out some time next year, and it has been reported that the new album will have a more orchestral direction than their previous work. More info can be found by going through AAPA MySpace to their own site.

It looks like DUTCH UNCLES will finally be releasing their self titled debut album over in the UK on 26th January 2010. This band were originally featured by us back in March 2009 in our NEW BANDS section, had the album released in Germany through the indie label Tapete, and they have since made an impressive live impact during the annual IN THE CITY international music event in Manchester during October (of which more info can be found in our NEWS 10-2009 section) - You can also listen to selected tracks from the band by going through AAPA MySpace to their own site.

It has been a year now since AIMEE MANN re-released her christmas/winter themed album "One More Drifter In The Snow" on SuperEgo Records (it came out originally in 2006) which included a mix of her own material and her take on songs like 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas' and 'Winter Wonderland', but we are giving it another mention (and not just because the festive season is almost upon us) as one of her own songs on this album - 'Calling On Mary' - has been included in this months AAPA Play List and trust us when we say it really is worth checking out! So give it a listen by going to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOgKYDto6jg - You can also listen to selected tracks from her most recent album and find out about any tour dates by going through AAPA MySpace to her own site.

THE COURTEENERS are set to return with a brand new album early next year which is their follow up to the critically acclaimed "St. Jude" (Polydor Records - 2008). In the meantime they will make one of the album tracks - 'Cross My Heart And Hope To Fly' - available as a free download from 7th December. They are also set to play the Manchester Central (fka G-MEX) to around 10,000 fans on 11th December with support from Buzzcocks and The Whip, while earlier this year they toured across North America as special guests to MORRISSEY - About a year ago, the band from Manchester released the live EP "Live at Manchester Apollo 09.10.08" (photo above) with the tracks 'That Kiss', 'Please Don`t', 'Bide Your Time' & 'What Took You So Long?'/'Tomorrow'. Since then they have been recording their second album in Belgium and it has been produced by Ed Buller (Pulp, Suede, White Lies) and is due out in February 2010 to coincide with a full UK Tour in March when they will be playing at least 16 different venues (starting on 4th March in Hull and finishing on 23rd & 24th March in Edinburgh and Glasgow). Our full review of "St. Jude" (from April 2008) can be found - > HERE - You can listen to selected tracks by going through AAPA MySpace to their own site.

As this month draws to a close we will also see the end of the decade and the 00`s will have passed, and on Wednesday 23rd December you can all head down to the ROTOWN in Rotterdam for their "DISCO 2000: HET BESTE VAN TIEN JAAR INDIE HITS" (Disco 2000: The best indie hits from the decade) where it is free entry and where you can help decide what their play list will sound like by sending your Top 5 songs of the decade by email to: disco2000@rotown.nl - Go to their website at www.rotown.nl for directions on how to get there (doors open around 9pm)

At the beginning of this year DELPHIC were one of the bands we tipped to go onto great things. This band from Manchester have since had various tracks included in our Monthly Play Lists and they have finally released more details about their debut album entitled "Acolyte" (photo of cover art above) which will be released on 11th January 2010. The band are currently out touring across the UK and are set to make their live debut on BBC2`s "Later With Jools Holland" show next week (Tuesday 10th November, and Friday 13th November) with some tracks from their eagerly awaited album. Take it from us that once their album is released it will have a similar impact that WHITE LIES had when their debut album came out at the start of 2009. See also our previous article about them in our NEW BANDS section (from March 2009) - You can listen to selected songs by going through AAPA MySpace to their own site.
