MAPS (aka James Chapman) will release his second album "Turning The Mind" (Mute) on 28th September, which is the follow up to his Mercury Music Prize nominated album "We Can Create" (from 2007) and this will coincide with a 15 date UK tour in October and early November. The album is preceded by the single 'I Dream Of Crystal' which is out on 14th September. James Chapman describes his new album as "an album which explores themes related to the human mind and the way certain stimuli, particularly chemical, can affect the mind in different ways. The tracks for this album never seemed to stop flowing from the day I began working on them, it is a true statement of Maps' music at this precise moment." Back in 2006, MATTHEW SWEET and former Bangles singer SUSANNA HOFFS released their first collaboration "Under The Covers Vol. 1", which was a collection of cool songs that had originally been released by other artists during the 50`s. Their follow up release "Under The Covers Vol. 2" (on the Shout Factory label) came out during the summer, and this new album features covers of songs from the 1960's and 1970's including those from the likes of Tom Petty, George Harrison, Mott The Hoople, John Lennon, Carly Simon, and Fleetwood Mac. We say, go and give it a listen as it is actually really good. You can also go to their official MySpace site at: http://www.myspace.com/sidnsusie to also check out upcoming live dates.
