FOR TIPS ON RECENT ALBUM RELEASES GO TO
APRIL - 2009
LUSHUS will be playing two gigs on Thursday 30th April - At 14:00 hours they will be on stage at the Pitcher in Haarlem as part of an alternative Queens Day event, and then they will be playing their second gig of the day at Exit in Rotterdam (doors open 17:00 hours!) - See previous article about them in our NEWS 11 - 2008 section.
MORRISSEY will be releasing 'Something Is Squeezing My Skull' as his next single on 27th April (which was first featured in our Monthly Playlist back in March 2008!), and is the latest track to be taken from his latest album "Years Of Refusal" (Decca / Polydor) - It will be backed by live recordings of 'Best Friend On The Payroll', 'I Keep Mine Hidden' and The Smiths’ classic 'This Charming Man'. Morrissey is due to play two homecoming gigs in Manchester on 22nd & 23rd May, and two more in the Benelux Region in June (all have been sold out for ages).
GALLOWS return with a new album entitled "Grey Britain" (Warners) on 4th May, which is the follow up to their debut album "Orchestra Of Wolves" (from 2006) - They will also be doing a 15 date tour of the UK in May, followed by a European Tour in June, to coincide, which includes two Benelux dates in Tilburg and Brussels. The album will be released in North America through Warner imprint Sire Records a day later on 5th May. The band recently played a storming set at SXSW (South By Southwest Festival) in Texas, and the video for 'The Vulture (Act II)' was recently shown on MTV2. As previously mentioned last December, DEPECHE MODE are back with a brand new album entitled "Sounds Of The Universe" (Mute) on 21st April, which has been preceded by current single 'Wrong'. Prior to their European Tour, the band will be playing a special warm-up show at the Rockhal in Luxembourg on Wednesday 6th May, and they are offering a special prize (closing date 15th April) for fans to attend, including airfare and hotel accommodation! - For more info and how to enter, go to: http://www.depechemode.com/luxembourg.html
