FOR TIPS ON RECENT ALBUM RELEASES GO TO
JANUARY - 2007

"Narcissus Road" (A&M Records), the debut album from THE HOURS will hit the shops next Monday (5th February). See also our NEW BANDS section for more info.

It looks like "Yours Truly, Angry Mob", the second album from KAISER CHIEFS that was to be released on 19th February has now been moved back a week and will now be available from 26th February. NEW & UPCOMING BANDS: Expect to hear even more about new and upcoming bands from the UK this year. Already making a name for themselves during 2006 and expected to step things up another level in 2007 were KLAXONS, THE HORRORS, BAT FOR LASHES, THE VIEW, iLiKETRAiNS, SHITDISCO, CAPTAIN, THE FRATELLIS, LITTLE MAN TATE and THE AUTOMATIC ... But 2007 has only just started and already we are hearing good reports from THE LODGER, ENTER SHIKARI, BLOOD RED SHOES, THE HOURS, HOT CLUB de PARIS, DARTZ!, GOOD SHOES, PARIS MOTEL, FREEBASS, DELUKA, THE TWANG and THE WOMBATS to name just a few! - Our NEW BANDS section has more info (including MySpace details) on the bands we believe will make a name for themselves this year. Whether they all get to play in the Benelux region is of course a different story as it is times like this when Dutch promoters and pluggers simply can`t keep up! - We recommend that you stay in touch by checking out our MONTHLY PLAYLISTS or keep an eye out for all the good gigs in your region by going to our CONCERTS & GIGS listings section.
You can also listen to some selected tracks by the majority of bands mentioned above by going through AAPA on MySpace

If new rave bands like KLAXONS have already grabbed your attention then maybe you should also check out ENTER SHIKARI, who have gone for what can best be described as a mix of rock and trance, where unlike bands like The Prodigy who combined the two and put the emphasis on dance, they have put rock first. More info can be found in our NEW BANDS section.

The latest news on the film "CONTROL", is that it is set to open in UK cinemas in 2007. The story of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis is based on the book 'Touching from a distance' by his wife Deborah Curtis and is directed by Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn. Though Corbijn had yet to direct a full feature film, his credentials were impeccable. In 1980 he moved from Holland to Britain specifically to photograph the group, his iconic shots for NME launching a career that would see him in the 80's and beyond become first choice lensman for U2, Depeche Mode and R.E.M. The director's first stipulation was that the film should be shot in moody black and white. The film was part-financed by Depeche Mode's Martin Gore. Members of New Order saw a preview on November 28th (2006). "Control" is expected to receive its worldwide premiere during spring 2007.
